About AppliedBits

AppliedBits is a destination for thought leadership in telecom identity, authentication, fraud prevention, and communications security.
We explore emerging technologies and evolving standards, bringing clarity to how real-world networks can become more secure, more transparent, and more trusted.
Our goal is to translate complex ideas—STIR/SHAKEN, Rich Call Data, delegated identity, impersonation fraud prevention, cloud-native communications—into insights that practitioners, policymakers, and technology leaders can act on.
AppliedBits is independent, neutral, and guided by practical experience in building and influencing the systems that power global communications.

About the Founder
AppliedBits was founded by Chris Wendt, a telecommunications and identity security leader with more than two decades of experience across VoIP/SIP, real-time communications, fraud prevention, and global standards development.
Their work includes leadership roles in the creation and evolution of STIR/SHAKEN, participation across IETF, ATIS, SIP Forum, CFCA, STI-GA, FCC/NANC, and architecture of large-scale carrier and cloud communication platforms.
AppliedBits reflects a career spent at the intersection of engineering, policy, and industry collaboration.
